From student leader to national figure—his story is inspiration.

Born in 1967 in Ghana’s Volta Region, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah has built a formidable reputation across politics, and education, and youth advocacy.

With roots in Atiavi (Volta Region) and Aheneman Kokoben (Ashanti Region), he brings a diverse cultural heritage to his work.

He studied at Okuapemman and Winneba Secondary Schools, earned a BA in English, Drama & Linguistics and an MA in International Affairs from the University of Ghana. Further certificates in computing, public relations, and marketing equipped him with a multi-disciplinary foundation.

His early professional journey took him from protocol management to public service, research, lecturing, and international political consulting.

Today, he continues to inspire as a lecturer, author, political advisor, and advocate for youth, peace, and economic development across the continent.

Political Trailblazer

Afriyie-Ankrah’s political career began in student leadership at the University of Ghana as SRC President, followed by coordinating secretary at NUGS. In 2000, he contested the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat.

In 2004, he was the youngest Deputy Campaign Manager for Prof. Mills and later became Deputy General Secretary of the NDC. His roles evolved to Deputy Minister for Local Government, Minister for Youth & Sports, and Minister of State.

He coordinated presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012, leading the charge that brought two Ghanaian Presidents into office.

Most recently, as NDC’s Director of Elections (2020), he ensured operational efficiency and electoral strategy.
